Spring Striper on the Roanoke River start migrating from their winter holes, upriver towards Weldon to spawn, this migration starts in the month of March until the majority of the river run stripers have reached their destination in Weldon, NC at the end of April thru May. During this migration of stripers the lower Roanoke and its creeks are on fire with numbers of feeding fish chasing the herring that migrate and spawn in our extensive fishery. During these times CWW clients catch large numbers of Stripers on artificial plastics and top water lures. Casting a top water plug into a feeding frenzy of Stripers will get adrenalin running.
